9 Day Fortnight Trial

At Almond Housing Association we firmly believe that looking after the well-being of our colleagues is directly linked to helping us deliver great customer service to our tenants.

From week commencing 8th January 2024 we are implementing a 12 month ‘9 Day Fortnight’ trial. The benefits of a shorter working week are numerous and have been demonstrated in multiple trials, studies and pilot programmes in the UK, the US, Ireland and elsewhere. Some of the key benefits which have been realised include –

  • Improved productivity / efficiency
  • Improved employee well-being
  • Increased employee retention & attraction
  • Reduced environmental impact

As a customer you should not experience any impact on customer service. Whilst many organisations have implemented 4 Day Working Weeks, we wanted to ensure that services were available to you from Monday to Friday. Colleagues will be off on alternative Friday’s ensuring that we have adequate cover to provide services for 5 x days per week.

During the trial we will continue to operate our usual opening hours.

Our phone lines are busiest on Monday mornings and during lunch time each day (12pm to 2pm). If you need to contact us but it is not urgent, you may want to call outside these periods but don’t worry if that’s not possible as you will still get through during busy times but may have to wait a little longer.
