Current Developments

We are currently on site with a new build development of 20 flats in Blackburn and a major upgrading project of 25 flats at Katherine Street in Livingston.

Blackburn, West Lothian

Our Blackburn development is located on part of the site of the former Mill Shopping Centre at Sycamore Walk and contributes to a small local area regeneration.

The development will provide a mix of 2 person one bedroom, and 4 person two bedroom flats.

Following support from The Scottish Government, we were delighted to secure grant funding for the project from the Allia Charitable Bond Programme.

The main contractor, G Dunbar and Sons (Builders) Ltd, started on site in late March 2024 and completion is scheduled for summer 2025.

The major upgrading project of 25 flats at Katherine Street follows on from a fire in early 2022.

Rather than just undertaking fire damage reinstatement works, the opportunity has been taken to significantly improve the energy efficiency of the building fabric by installing a new external wall insulation and render system. Heating and hot water, previously delivered by gas boilers, will now be provided by individual air source heat pumps.

These improvements should result in lower energy costs for residents whilst contributing to carbon net zero targets.

Our ability to undertake the energy efficiency upgrades has been greatly assisted by grant funding awarded by the Scottish Housing Net Zero Heat Fund.

The main contractor, McTaggart Construction Ltd, started on site in early January 2024 and completion is scheduled for summer 2025.
